Nature’s influence on occupant's psychological behavior has been profound mystery throughout various historical civilizations, shaping human's involuntary emotional response. Thus, art has long served as a vehicle for capturing and communicating our experiences within the sublime totality of the natural world, allowing us to engage and reflect on our sensuous and profound human perception. Naturhaus is an embodiment of this symbiotic relationship between art and nature, seeking to deepen the human connection to the environment through thoughtful design. At the heart of Naturhaus lies a central courtyard, reminiscent of a ‘pre-existing landscape’, akin to the iconic Central Park in New York City. This design choice not only fosters a sense of tranquility and harmony but also serves as a tangible expression of our innate connection to the natural world. By incorporating natural materials into the architecture, Naturhaus becomes a living, breathing entity, enriching the educational experience of its inhabitants. The minimalist facades of Naturhaus are a testament to the notion of simplicity in design, allowing the surrounding landscape to take center stage. The use of monolithic perimeter walls and transparent inner courtyard walls creates a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces, facilitating a sense of openness and interconnectedness with nature. Within this tranquil oasis, students are afforded respite from the hustle and bustle of urban life, fostering a conducive environment for learning and reflection. A core principle guiding the design of Naturhaus is sustainability. From the selection of materials to the construction methods employed, every aspect of the design prioritizes environmental stewardship.
